Guess what. Cars and trucks with their nasty “climate change emissions” may be eradicated from European cities by the year 2050.
Top of the EU’s list to cut climate change emissions is a target of “zero” for the number of petrol and diesel-driven cars and lorries in the EU’s future cities.
Extrapolating from the about-one degree Fahrenheit increase in global temperature over the last century, banning the cars might save the earth from warming another half a degree or so. So, yeah. Totally worth it.
The people behind all this nonsense claim to be concerned environmentalists spooked by an increase in the earth’s temperature. But really they are socialist ideologues spooked by the increase in prosperity, health, and happiness in countries that embrace petroleum-driven capitalism.
But look on the bright side. European grandparents shouldn’t despair. If those green-on-the-outside-red-on-the-inside environmentalist watermelon people get their way and eradicate cars and trucks, some savvy investments could provide restitution to the kids for the theft of their futures. A stock portfolio of buggy whips, mule carts, flux capacitors, rickshaws, bicycles, and those cars on the Flintstones that go by foot power, and one could accumulate quite a nest egg to supplement the grandkid’s opportunity-blighted lives. And they’ll need it, because they’ll be broke.
