Bombshell confession: Obama has been drowning polar bears since 1988

From Red State: Guess what! Domestic oil production is at its highest level since 2003, and it’s President Obama’s fault! He admits it!

Al Gore better start stocking up on anesthetic throat spray… because if this is true, Obama betrayed us big time.

Here is the full confession from the White House blog:

One area where we have focused our efforts since the start of the administration – long before this current spike – is increasing responsible domestic energy production – including oil and gas. In fact, oil production last year rose to its highest level since 2003. From 2008 to 2010, oil production from the Outer Continental Shelf increased more than a third – from 446 million barrels in 2008 to an more than 600 million barrels of estimated production in 2010.

This has got to be a dark night of the soul for the faithful. I know I hardly know what to believe anymore. Whatever happened to the brave and idealistic presidential candidate whose election marked “the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow and the planet began to heal?”

How does all that BS angelic idealism square with this latest baloney declaration that oil and gas have been where the administration “focused our efforts?”

Let me try to explain. Domestic oil production has (thank God) increased, mainly because BPs intrepid Thunder Horse field managed to squeak into production just before the Obama administration clamped its big green boot over the spigots of domestic oil.

Except now we learn that Thunder Horse was Obama’s baby all along. Skeptics may point out that its leases were approved in 1988 and 1994, the well was drilled in 1999, and the platform was set in 2005. And they may insist that means that oil production increased despite, not because of, Obama’s policies. But those are small details, because, of course, time and space have no constraints on the Anointed One.

Nevertheless, I could weep when I think about all those cute fuzzy polar bears now treading water in tepid oceans because the savior sold out.
