And the polar bears will drown, and Manhattan will be submerged under a giant wave… Whoops. Sorry. Wrong propaganda reel.
In the wake of Congress’ vote to defund Planned Parenthood (PP), notable lefties ranging from New York City mayor, Michael Bloomberg, to Dr. Cuddy on TV’s House; have been running around like Chicken Little (or Al Gore, but I repeat myself), shrieking about the various and sundry catastrophes that will befall women if Congress stops forcing taxpayers to underwrite the notorious abortion institution.
Bloomberg, it seems, is positive that if women can’t get Pap smears within spitting distance of skull crushing and vacuum aspirations, Pap smears will never be available ever again. And furthermore, nobody else on earth besides PP could possibly administer Depo Provera to a poor woman, and so they’ll just have to go without — and is that what you really want Congress? Is it?
“These proposals would have serious consequences for women’s health in New York City and across the nation,” New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg said.
“Removing funding for women’s health clinics through these proposals would likely increase the spread of STDs, increase the number of women with cervical and breast cancers who are not diagnosed until the cancers are in late stages and increase unintended pregnancies among women.”
Wow, for a man who thinks people might commit mass murder because they don’t “like the Healthcare bill or something,” Bloomberg sure is accomodating to an outfit that not only kills about a thousand babies a day, but is the biggest apologist for child rape since Judge Edward Cashman.
Mike Pence, (R-IN), who introduced the amendment to defund PP, pointed out that that Title X services are not in jeopardy. He just doesn’t doesn’t think we should give them to PP.
First, the Pence Amendment does not cut any funding for women’s health services under Title X. It would simply block those funds already in the bill from subsidizing America’s largest abortion provider.
In fact, it has never been my ambition to reduce funding for Title X services. I applaud the important work done at Title X clinics, such as pregnancy diagnosis, breast cancer screening and HIV testing. I support young women getting the access to care they need and deserve. My legislation would help protect women who find themselves in crisis pregnancies by ensuring they receive access to unbiased and compassionate health services.
Second, critics have asserted that if Planned Parenthood is denied funding there would be no other organizations available to provide these services to women in our larger cities. This too is incorrect.
There are literally thousands of clinics across the country — other than Planned Parenthood — that receive federal funding and offer access to health care for low-income women and families.
While Planned Parenthood asserts that no federal funds are used to provide or promote abortion, a woman entering a Planned Parenthood clinic in 2009 was 42 times more likely to have an abortion than to receive either prenatal care or be referred for adoption.
Also, as recent headlines have shown, Planned Parenthood clinics have faced allegations of violating reporting laws in several states, instructing young women to lie about their age to get an abortion without their parents’ knowledge, and have been found civilly liable for failure to report statutory rape.
Planned Parenthood clinics have also been accused of fraudulent accountingor overbilling practices and in recent weeks, undercover videos showed Planned Parenthood employees apparently willing to aid human sex traffickers by coaching them on how to falsify documents and secure secret abortions for underage prostitutes.
Bloomberg isn’t the only one resorting to hysteria to protect baby killers and pedophile enablers. Actress, Lisa Edelstein, has colluded with MoveOn.org to scrape the bottom of the barrel of moldy, discredited, and demeaning excuses for intrauterine butchery: The assumption that women are selfish, weak, stupid and just plain nuts — because if they can’t get their babies torn from their wombs in pieces instead of carrying them to term and delivering them alive, they will mutilate themselves with coat hangers.
Actress Lisa Edelstein plays Dr. Lisa Cuddy, the hospital administrator (and main squeeze) of Fox’s “House.” But Edelstein jumped into politics this week in a MoveOn.org ad accusing the Republican Party of moving the clock back and “trying to send women back to the back alley”for abortions.
Wow, thanks for the vote of confidence, Dr. Cuddy. And for the helpful reminder of how little feminists really think of us. I happen to think women are stronger than that.
I guess that explains why you and your fellow liberals believe the nation is populated with Neanderthals who are incapable of eating or driving or breathing without help from the government.
