A fair view point. From a liberal. On Bill Maher’s “Real Time.” If this keeps up I’m going to start believing in Santa Clause.
Just kidding. I know there are a lot of fair-minded, sincere lefties out there. Logical, not so much, but you can’t have everything I guess.
On Friday, Maher implied that conservatives are not only homophobic but unconcerned about the suffering in Darfur because “they have a hard time being empathetic to people who are not like them at all.”
Apparently he hasn’t learned Bill Clinton’s trick of reserving his most hare-brained, preposterous balderdash for foreign audiences where it is less likely to be shot down. Either that or he decided to take a chance in the company of his fellow liberal – but apparently fair-minded - guest, George Clooney.
He chose poorly:
Incidentally, it’s well documented that conservatives give generously to the poor, as opposed to busy-body liberals who are more concerned with forcing others to give than giving themselves. Conservatives just balk at state-mandated compassion, where free will is replaced with threats of incarceration from their hypocritical leftist skinflint neighbors.
