Since when is dissent a firing offense?

More craziness from those who insist that anyone who disagrees with President Obama is racist.  This is the logic behind it, as far as I’m able to figure: Obama is the first president in history to have detractors. And Obama is the first black president, too. So he only has detractors because he’s black.

I guess they’re counting on a really, really ignorant populace — so ignorant they don’t even remember George W. Bush. Also, it’s all they have.

Anyway, here’s the latest:

Twenty-six-year-old Bryan Glover is a Christian who co-wrote a song called “When You’re Holding a Hammer, Everything Looks Like a Nail,” which takes a dig at the current administration and what he believes to be the wrong moves for the U.S. He sent a link to his song to everyone in his personal e-mail inbox, which included parents from Grassland Middle School, where he coached football.

“An hour-and-a-half after sending out the e-mail, I got the phone call from the head coach saying that he had had complaints from parents; he was told to fire me,” the former coach accounts.

He notes that he was surprised by the allegations against him.

“When the coach first called me, he said his phone was blown up with parents saying that I was being politically incorrect — quote, unquote — if you will, and that some of them were even reading into racial overtones in the song,” Glover explains.

Racial overtones? Well, you can decide for yourself:

Having grown up during the Nixon Administration, I became quite used to public attacks of the highest office holder as a norm. During Bush II, a new intensity was seen that even surpassed what I remember of Nixon. A constant attack that for the 1st time included very public figures, inclusive of even politicians. My God, they even made a assassination movie that portrayed the real President Bush!
Skip forward 24 months. White House power brokers publically encouraging citizens to refer to them "negative" e-mails about President Obama, schools giving Obama the kind of honor and praise they say is constitutionally illegal to give God (unless that god happens to be Allah), web-site monitoring (You surely have a FBI file somewhere, and I'm surprised I haven't yet been audited or arrested, although this weeks OutRageToday may actually do the job), and citizenry SCARED to share their opinions WITH EACH OTHER!

It's unbelievable. It's so shocking that for the first time in history a presidet has had opposition! So the only possible explanation is racism. Like I said, I guess it's all they got. They certainly don't want to argue the issues, that's for sure. Can't wait to check out Outrage Today. Sounds interesting!

    Comment continued from above…………………………………

My 13 year old daughter was told that she was no longer welcome at her best friends house because she said she didn't like Obama! She was told their family didn't keep company with racist. My 13 year old doesn't have a racist bone in her body by the way.
I'm actually scared every time I post anything about this administration. I inadvertently noticed someone with a .gov e-mail register on my web-site, and I seriously considered shutting it down.
I just hope they see bigger fish to fry, or it could be like the IRS, go after the defenseless first. Believe it or not many day's I'm damn glad I've got so few readers!

I am truly appalled! My first impulse was that the whole story should go on your blog and my blog and email it around to the others. But then I realized the feelings of a 13-year-old girl are involved — a delicate thing. That is discrimination and bigotry on the same level of what they are falsely accusing her of. Unfortunately "deep thinkers" like these are what have gotten us into this mess we're in. Honestly, have they ever heard of such a thing as the First Amendment? About your other concern, someone should do some investigating to see if there actually are more tax audits on outspoken conservatives. I'd like to see some statistics. It's pretty well established that Clinton used it as a weapon against his detractors. Definitely creepy. But I tend to think that small potatoes like us are probably safe because of our, ahem, anonymity. See, there's a bright side!
